With Parliament now back in session after the General Election and the ceremony of the State Opening, I have been busy resuming my duties both locally and as a Government Minister.
Our legislative programme has already begun, with the EU Referendum and a new Scotland Bill the main features of this and coming weeks. I have voted in favour of having an EU Referendum and I am pleased that fulfilling our pledge to have a vote on Britain’s membership of the European Union is one of the early priorities for this Conservative Government.
I am working on some of the issues that featured in my local campaign. I have had some meetings already on issues such as Southeastern, and I have further discussions planned soon with Ministers and others.
In addition, my programme of visits, surgeries and functions has resumed and I have a full diary of constituency engagements arranged for the coming months. Please do get in touch if you feel that I can help you with any issue, or if you are a local business or organisation that would like me to visit.
