Club Commemorates World War II Veterans

Bexleyheath Conservative Club held a Remembrance Day lunch on Sunday 13th November to commemorate the service given in World War II by four Veterans, who are all aged over 90 and are still active members of the Club. The Master of Ceremonies was the Club Secretary, Commander Keith Manchanda OBE.

Rt Hon David Evennett MP was guest of honour and gave a short speech. He presented certificates to Leonard Sparvell, William Heywood, Peter Tecter, and Florence Russell. Each recipient spoke briefly about their wartime service and memories. After the presentations there was a three course lunch followed by an auction, raffle and entertainment.
