Celebrating the Queen and St George

Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford and Minister for Heritage, attended the Royal Society of St George’s lunchtime reception in Parliament yesterday (21 April).

The event was held in the Speaker’s State Apartments in Parliament to celebrate St George’s Day on 23 April. Attendees also raised a glass to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday, before singing the national anthem.

After the reception, Mr Evennett commented: “St George and the Monarchy are both a part of England’s heritage, and it’s fantastic to see such great patriotism”.
