Evennett makes first sports visit

Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, made his first visit as Minister for Sport, Tourism and Heritage on Friday morning, 8 January. During a tour of St Thomas More RC Primary School in Bexleyheath, he met with PE specialist Andy Pullen to discuss the school’s efforts to keep young people active.

Using funding that they receive for school sports, Mr Pullen runs PE lessons in the school for pupils.

Mr Evennett said “Regular exercise and sport is vital if we are to tackle obesity and diabetes. These activities help young people to lead a healthier lifestyle, whilst developing confidence and teamwork skills that benefit them in many different ways. I am pleased that St Thomas More School is doing their bit to encourage participation in sport and exercise.”
