Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, has called on Network Rail to reconsider its plans for the closure of London Bridge, Cannon Street and Charing Cross Stations over Christmas and the New Year.
There will be significant changes involved for constituents travelling on all three lines through the Borough. In a letter to the Chief Executive of Network Rail, Mark Carne, Mr Evennett said:
“These proposals will cause significant disruption to those who will continue to work in London over the Christmas period and also affect others with travel plans for family or entertainment purposes.
“I am also concerned about capacity, particularly on regular working days, during this period, and ensuring that there are adequate alternative services.
“I urge Network Rail to reconsider its plans for this Christmas.”
