Treasury Talk at Tory dinner

Rt Hon Greg Hands MP, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, was the guest speaker at the 2015 Bexleyheath and Crayford Conservative Association Annual Dinner on Wednesday night, 30 September.

Over 80 guests enjoyed a two course dinner at Prada’s Bar and Grill in Bexleyheath at the event, which was held to raise funds for the Association’s political activities.

Greg, who is the MP for Chelsea and Fulham, went around the restaurant meeting members and chatting to them about various political and economic issues, before giving his speech, which was introduced by Bexleyheath MP, Rt Hon David Evennett.

He spoke about his time as an MP and his time in Parliament, during which time he has served as a Parliamentary Private Secretary and Deputy Chief Whip before being promoted to attend Cabinet as number two to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Greg also talked about the election result, the challenges facing the Government over the next five years and the dangers posed by Labour’s new leader. He then answered questions on tax, Europe and Government spending.
