David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, paid a visit to the new Urgent Care Centre on the Erith Hospital site in Park Crescent on Friday morning, 20 February.
He met with Director of Operations Ryalla Baker and Operational Manager Sue Hopkins from Hurley Group, who run the service, and Douline Schoeman and Jon Winter from the Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group. They spoke about how the services were operating and the importance of patients choosing to visit the right facility for their needs, before touring the site.
Mr Evennett said “I was very impressed with the staff and the new facilities. I also managed to speak with some of the patients awaiting treatment. As there is an increase in number of people seeking treatment from our NHS, it is vital that patients contact the right people when they are ill, whether it be advice from a pharmacist, visiting their GP, attending an Urgent Care Centre like those at Erith or Queen Mary’s Hospital, or going to Accident and Emergency.”
