At the AGM of St Michael’s branch Conservatives last night (16 January) David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, spoke about the progress that the Government has made on the economy since 2010 and the way in which local people have benefited from this.
Mr Evennett said “We have helped to create over 1.8million more jobs since 2010 and there are more people in work than ever before. We have lifted thousands of local people out of tax and we are making work pay by capping benefits.
“Labour would put all of this at risk, with their plans to tax and spend more. Only a Conservative-majority Government can and will keep Britain on the road to a stronger economy.”
He also outlined Conservative plans on other policy areas.
He said “We will go further on immigration, replace Labour’s Human Rights Act with a British Bill of Rights and we are the only Party that can deliver a referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU.”
