David Evennett MP voted in the House of Commons on 17 October in favour of Bob Neill MP’s Private Members’ Bill to hold a referendum on UK membership of the EU by the end of 2017. The Bill passed through the Commons by 283-0.
Mr Evennett commented: “The people need to be consulted on our membership of the EU. The Prime Minister will renegotiate terms for our membership, and then ask the public to decide whether they wish to remain a member.
The Conservatives are the only Party prepared to trust the people on this important matter and offer an in-out referendum”.
