David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford has welcomed measures outlined in the Queen’s Speech today (4 June), detailing the plans for the final year of this Parliament.
Mr Evennett said “we need to continue to secure the economic recovery for our country, and we need to change our pensions system so that people who work hard and do the right thing have more security in their retirement.”
“The collection of bills proposed on childcare, small businesses, recall of MPs, infrastructure and social action, responsibility and heroism, offer necessary reforms in these areas” Mr Evennett commented.
“Whilst there is still more that needs to be done to repair the damage caused by 13 years of Labour’s economic and financial mismanagement, these proposals are a blueprint for Britain’s future. These measures will continue to help local people with the pressures they face and address the issues they are concerned about. They will help families, protect workers, fight modern slavery and tackle serious crime. This represents a long-term plan to make Britain great again by investing in skills, creating jobs and building more homes.”
