Unemployment falls again in Bexleyheath and Crayford

Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett has welcomed today’s announcement that unemployment in the constituency has fallen by 37% since the General Election.

Figures from the Office of National Statistics show there are 666 fewer people in Bexleyheath and Crayford in receipt of Jobseeker’s Allowance compared with June 2010. There are also 180 fewer young people out of work.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Evennett said “This good news is further evidence that the Conservatives’ long term economic plan is working. By supporting businesses, investing in apprenticeships and reforming our welfare system we are creating more opportunities. We are also helping local families by cutting income tax, freezing fuel duty and improving schools. There is still more to do, but Conservatives in Government are turning Britain around.”
