David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, visited Goals Soccer Centre in Bexleyheath on Friday afternoon (31 January) to learn about their new campaign to encourage people to get active after the festive season.
They have also launched Football Bootcamps, which are one hour fitness sessions with football involved with every exercise. It is estimated that an average male will burn off 747 calories by playing one hour of football.
Mr Evennett said “A game of football, either social or competitive, can be an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Obesity is an increasing public health problem so activities such as this, which include social and health benefits, are to be encouraged.”
He is pictured with Centre Manager Alan Robertson discussing the campaign.
