Visit to Sainsbury’s to discuss support for local groups

David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, visited the Sainsbury’s Superstore in Crayford on Friday afternoon (13 December) to discuss the support they offer to local charities, schools and community organisations.

He met with the Store Manager, Rob Johnson, to chat about schemes such as Sainsbury’s Active Kids, which has seen £859,513 of sports equipment donated to organisations in Bexley. They also discussed their charity of the year programme and promotion of other groups.

Mr Evennett said “Bexley has really benefited from the Active Kids programme, thanks to the support of Sainsbury’s and the generosity of their customers. With childhood obesity an increasing concern, these efforts to encourage sporting activity are very welcome.”

He also suggested some local groups that Sainsbury’s could support in Crayford.
