Evennett unveils plaque at Heath’s home

David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, was the guest of honour at a special ceremony organised by Bexley Civic Society in Crayford on Tuesday morning, 19 November.

Mr Evennett unveiled a commemorative plaque at one of the childhood homes of former Prime Minister and Bexley MP Sir Ted Heath. Sir Ted lived at 106 Green Walk, Crayford, between 1916 and 1923, during which time his father worked as a Foreman Carpenter at the Vickers munitions factory.

Before revealing the plaque, he gave a short speech about working with Sir Ted from 1983 until Sir Ted’s retirement in 2001.
