Meeting with Oxleas to discuss Queen Mary’s Hospital plans

Queen Mary's with Stephen FirnI paid a visit to Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup on Friday morning (1 November) to meet with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust Chief Executive Stephen Firn.

Oxleas took over the management of the Hospital site on 1 October following the break-up of the South London Healthcare NHS Trust.

During the meeting, I learned about Oxleas’ plans to invest in the Hospital. A number of organisations will be involved in providing treatment and new services will be provided for Bexley residents in the future (see the video at the bottom of this post).

After our discussion, I popped in to the Urgent Care Centre with Mr Firn, where we chatted with staff and patients about the service.

Queen Mary’s Hospital provides vital services for Bexley residents, which is why I campaigned for the site to be transferred to a different NHS Trust. I welcome Oxleas’ plans to invest in the site, which will ensure that people can access the treatment and services they need and deserve in the future.
