David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, attended a demonstration of life-saving skills by St John’s Ambulance at Asda in Bexleyheath on Saturday afternoon.
The event was organised as part of St John’s Ambulance’s Save A Life September, which is being run to raise awareness of the importance of first aid skills.
Mr Evennett said “St John’s Ambulance volunteers do very important work in providing medical cover at events, promoting life saving skills and offering training in the local community. Demonstrations like these are vital for raising awareness and encouraging people to learn first aid so that when the need arises they are able to act. I enjoyed meeting the volunteers and receiving a less in CPR skills.”
