David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, met with the new London Area Manager of the Royal British Legion during a Parliamentary reception last week (4 September).
Mr Evennett is pictured with Ryan Allain, with whom he spoke about the support that the Legion offers.
The Royal British Legion provides care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces and their families. As the nation’s leading Armed Forces charity, the Legion spends £1.6 million a week, or £84 million a year on vital welfare work, providing social, emotional and financial care and support to serving and ex-Service people and their families. Approximately 9 million people in the UK are eligible for the Legion’s support.
Mr Evennett used the opportunity to discuss with Mr Allain the changing face of Armed Forces welfare provision in Bexleyheath and Crayford.
Mr Evennett said “The Royal British Legion does vital work all year round supporting past and present members of our Armed Forces. The diverse range of support they offer makes such a difference. It is important that we recognise the sacrifices made for our Country, and I am pleased to continue supporting them.“
