David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, paid a visit to Re-Instate Ltd in Erith on Friday afternoon (7 December). He was invited to visit following their re-launch in October this year.
Re-Instate is a charitable company that assist people with ongoing and enduring mental health problems. Their sheltered workshop in St John’s Hall, West Street, provides support and encouragement to help clients reach their potential through work. Abilities are identified and training offered to those who want to learn new skills. They also seek work experience opportunities with private companies and other organisations.
Mr Evennett met with John Boyd, the General Manager, and Simon Hart, who is responsible for Marketing, to discuss their history, their current operations and their future plans. He was then given a tour of the workshop by Mr Boyd where he saw a variety of different products being assembled.
Commenting on the visit, Mr Evennett said “Charitable companies such as Re-Instate Ltd are doing excellent work in supporting people with ongoing mental health issues to fulfil their potential. I was impressed by the opportunities on offer and the commitment of those involved.”
