Gove visits local schools

Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, the Secretary of State for Education, visited local schools on Friday 19 October at the invitation of Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett.

In the morning, he visited St Paulinus Church of England Primary School in Crayford. He met with the Headteacher, Mrs Marilyn Davey, and the new Chairman of Governors, Cllr David Hurt. Mr Gove was given a tour of the school, speaking to most classes and their teachers.

During the afternoon, Mr Gove visited Erith School. He spoke with the Principal, Julie Turner, Vice Principal John Sawyer and representatives of the Governing Body about a number of issues. Mr Gove and Mr Evennett were then shown around the school, speaking with pupils in various classes, such as History, Geography and Food Technology.
