Rights and Respect Award

David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, was invited to Slade Green Infant School for a special presentation on Friday morning (21 September).

Mr Evennett was asked to give to the new School Council members a Unicef UK Rights Respecting School Level 1 certificate. The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of a school’s planning, policies, practice and ethos.

A rights-respecting school not only teaches about children’s rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers / adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils.

Following their success this year, the School hopes to achieve a Level 2 designation next year.
