David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, showed his support for small businesses by visiting the Broadway Sandwich Bar and meeting the staff on Friday morning (6 July).
The visit was arranged by the Federation of Small Businesses, as part of a campaign to highlight Independent Retailer Month. David Evennett MP said:
“I warmly welcome this campaign as small businesses are the backbone of our economy. It is therefore vital that we do all we can to encourage people to shop in their local high streets and support businesses like Broadway Sandwich Bar.
“I am also a passionate about reducing regulation and bureaucracy for small firms and making it easier for people to start their own businesses, which will help our town centres to prosper”.
Broadway Sandwich Bar owner, Mrs Spencer said: “Running a small business can be very challenging but also very rewarding. We have been lucky to survive over the years and that’s thanks to many of our regular customers who have been coming here for years.”
