David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, was invited to visit Southeastern Railway’s maintenance depot in Slade Green on Friday morning (20 April).
The event started with a briefing about the various activities that take place at the depot, including maintenance and repairs, and aspects of the franchise. Mr Evennett used the opportunity to discuss a number of issues raised with him by constituents, including:
– number of carriages on each service
– capacity and overcrowding
– hygiene and cleanliness
– information provided by staff when problems occur
He was then given a tour of the depot, visiting the many departments, meeting the staff and watching demonstrations of the software used to monitor trains and maintenance.
He is pictured in the depot speaking with Jack Commandeur, the Head of Engineering Services.
