David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, has nominated Texcel Technology of Thames Road, Crayford, for inclusion in the Made by Britain project, following a visit to their premises on Friday afternoon, 20 February.
During the visit, Mr Evennett met with Managing Director Andy McLeod and Commercial Director Peter Shawyer to learn about their innovative products and tour the site.
He also agreed to nominate the company for inclusion on the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group’s Made by Britain map, for their work on projects such as NEPTUNE.
On his nomination form, Mr Evennett said “The NEPTUNE project, that Texcel has provided power and switching solutions for, will help develop our understanding of the ocean and the many biological, chemical, physical and geological events that take place. I am pleased that a successful firm in my constituency has designed and manufactured such innovative components for this important project.”
Peter Shawyer, Texcel’s Commercial Director said “These projects have been great for Texcel, firstly they were interesting and fun working with the other team members, but we have been able to develop a niche solution, based upon our high reliability design and manufacturing expertise, which I am sure other customers will want to benefit from”.
