Original story from November 2011

David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, has raised his concerns with the new Transport Secretary, Rt Hon Justine Greening MP, about the possibility of ticket office closures following the publication of an independent report.

Mr Evennett had already written to Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP, the previous Transport Secretary, about the matter in September.

During his discussion with Ms Greening, Mr Evennett said that the potential closure of Slade Green Station’s ticket office, and reduced opening hours at Crayford Station’s ticket office, as proposed in Sir Roy McNulty’s independent Rail Value for Money Study could have a detrimental impact on safety and service for vulnerable rail users.
