Evennett views new plans for Bexleyheath sites

David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, paid a visit to Central Library on Friday morning (9 September) to review the plans made by Tesco and Bexley Council for the redevelopment of the former Woolwich Headquarters in Bexleyheath.

Mr Evennett had previously campaigned against Tesco’s plans to build a superstore on the former Woolwich site, which he believed would have caused real noise and traffic problems for local residents.

Under the new proposals, Bexley Council will move into the old Woolwich building and Tesco will build a store on the current Bexley Civic Offices site.

Commenting on the plans, Mr Evennett said “These new plans will provide much needed housing on the Woolwich site, maintain the iconic building for Council use, and the supermarket will be built in a more appropriate location.”
