Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett has condemned the recent violent acts that have taken place in our capital city. He said:
“I am naturally concerned and appalled at the violence, rioting and looting which has taken place across London and parts of the UK in the past few days. There is no excuse for this disgraceful and shocking behaviour.
“We all have our part to play in helping to stop this terrible situation, so it is right that Parliament is recalled to discuss and debate this important matter. I will be in the House of Commons on Thursday to listen to the Prime Minister’s statement.
“I also welcome the massive increase in the number of Police officers that will be on duty tonight, and I thank them for their bravery and commitment in very tough circumstances.
“I hope that the Government will do all it can to ensure law and order is restored as soon as possible”.
Mr Evennett has been in touch with the Bexley Police Borough Commander regarding patrols locally.
