Evennett gives support to Bexley College

David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, was the keynote speaker at the Bexley College Celebration of Achievement awards ceremony on Thursday evening (21 July).

The event took place in the College’s HE Conference Hall at their Tower Road site in Belvedere. Learners of all ages received awards for their achievement and progress in their various subjects and staff awards were presented in recognition of long service and retirement.

During his speech, Mr Evennett said “We live in a fast and changing world. We all need to learn new skills and continue our education throughout our lives. We should embrace the extra opportunities being created and never stop learning. This is important not just for our own lives, but also the local community and our national economy.”

He added “This is an exciting time to be involved with Bexley College as the Principal and his team look towards the future, with the establishment of a formal partnership with the Adult Education College and the proposed new site in Erith. I believe that this could deliver real benefits for learners in Bexley.”

Mr Evennett is pictured in Erith this afternoon (22 July) with Ben Wright of Connect PA, examining the proposals for the new Bexley College site.
