Stalls and sideshows, a model railway exhibition, live music from the 1960s, the pancake factory, a pimms and beer tent, cakes, burgers, ice creams and entertainment were the features of the Barnehurst Festival held on Saturday (26 June) at St Martin’s Church, Erith Road, Barnehurst.
Brownies, guides and cubs paraded in the summer sunshine from the Barnehurst Methodist Church to St Martin’s and then helped to run some of the stalls.
David Evennett MP, a local resident, officially opened the Festival and thanked Rev Gareth Bowen, PCC members, parents and church organisers for promoting and celebrating Barnehurst.
Then, accompanied by his wife Marilyn, Mr Evennett toured the stalls and tried his hand at making pancakes.
